Pillip, Thanks for the tips. We have now managed to run Tuflow using the Softlok dongle . However, another problem; TUFLOW tries to right the simulation log files on teh C drive rather than the folder which I provided with in the tcf. please see the attached screen dump. It cannot write it itself either. Regards Manaye -

Philip, Thanks again. I am using TUFLOW v 2009AF. The dongle I am using the old Softlok dongle. Thanks Manaye -

Phillip, Thanks for your comments. When I say without success, I meant that I tried to run Tufflow using UltraEdit and the dos DOS box appears for appriximately 30 seconds and returns a black output screen. No error message is displayed. Regards Manaye -

Direct Rainfall Instabilities
manaye replied to helen.judd@scottwilson.com's topic in Mass Balance/Mass Error
Have you tried to use variable roughness values for your material files? Regards Manaye -
Mathieu, Are you using unfiltered LiDAR to generate your Zpts? I had the same problem of model instability and very high depths at the interface of buildings and the road level because of the free fall from the roof of the building to the low ground level.

We are trying to abstract flows from streets digitized as polygons. What we want is just to take away flows from a 2D cell by using an SH boundary. We have specified an QH curve in the database. The model is running fine but it doesn't look that it is abstracting any flows. Are we missing something? Regards Manaye

Dear All, We are undertaking a 2D direct rainfall modelling in an urban area using an unfiltered LiDAR data with approximately 80% of the area is covered by buildings (we are talking about 3,500 or more buildings). We are trying to estimate the available storage area within buildings without digitizing the buildings themselves in order to reduce the predicted flood depth on site. Has anyone done a similar exercise before? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Regards Manaye

Philip, Thanks for your comments and suggestion. Where do you place the interpolate ZC command? Can I place before the READ Zpt command or after it. I suppose befoure it. Regards Manaye

We are undertaking a direct rainfall simulation by applying a rainfall hyetographs on the active cells. We are using an unfiltered LiDAR (DSM) and due to this bumpy elevation, the model is showing a huge mass error. Does this going to affect the modelling result? I think it would but by how much. Has anyone else done similar modelling with a DSM and encountered the same a similar mass error (e.g. 37%) . Cheers Manaye

We are having problems with our network license manager. Some of our licenses are mysteriously disappearing. It looks to me that TUFLOW after completing a simulation is not unlocking the license and it still thinks that the license is used ( I may be wrong). Was such a problem reported elsewhere? Regards Manaye
