  1. We are pleased to announce the release of TUFLOW Classic/HPC 2020-10-AA. This release is a substantial update to the 2020-01 release that includes enhancements to the HPC and Quadtree solvers and new default settings. HQ boundaries in HPC and Quadtree now default to the same approach as used by Classic solver Dambreak piping failure and new 1D dambreak channel Automatic adjustments of 1D structure losses according to the approach/departure 2D velocities Two new layered flow constriction approaches for improved modelling of pressure flow at bridges A range of bug fixes primarily relating to the new functionality in the 2020-01 release The new executable and the 2020 release notes are available for download from: https://tuflow.com/downloads/#tuflow. This release is included in the 2020/2021 maintenance period, which was invoiced mid year, therefore licences will need to be updated for the 2020/2021 period. For any licensing queries, please contact sales@tuflow.com. An update to the TUFLOW manual for the 2020 releases is now underway, but in the meantime the 2018-03 release version of the manual is the latest and should be read in conjunction with the 2020 release notes. Happy modelling from the TUFLOW Team and as always, any queries, suggestions or issues, please don’t hesitate to contact support@tuflow.com. Best regards The TUFLOW Team
  2. We are pleased to announce the release of TUFLOW Classic/HPC 2020-01-AA. This release was flagged as the 2019 release, but we didn’t quite make 2019, plus we thought given the amazing new features it would be a nice way to start the new year/decade. As we’ve been discussing at our various 2019 workshops, the major new features are to the HPC 2D solver along with a variety of other more general enhancements and bug fixes for both Classic and HPC. The major new features are below. For the full list of changes please refer to the release notes. Quadtree Mesh refinement Sub-Grid Sampling (SGS) of elevations for cell volume / cell face definition Mesh size insensitive turbulence (eddy viscosity) solution Non-Newtonian flow HPC AD (Advection-Dispersion) scheme The new executable and 2020-01 release notes are available for download from: https://www.tuflow.com/Downloads.aspx. This release is included in the 2019/2020 maintenance period, which was invoiced mid last year, therefore licences will need to be updated for the 2019/2020 period. For any licensing queries, please contact sales@tuflow.com. The update to the TUFLOW manual for the 2020-01 release is now underway, but in the meantime the 2018-03 release version of the manual is the latest and should be read in conjunction with the 2020-01 release notes. Happy modelling from the TUFLOW Team and enjoy these amazing new features in the HPC 2D solver. And as always, any queries, suggestions or issues, please don’t hesitate to contact support@tuflow.com. Best regards The TUFLOW Team
  3. We are pleased to announce that the TUFLOW Release 2017-09 is now available. To download the release and view the release notes please use the links further below. The 2017-09 release includes some major new features and range of enhancements. The most significant of these are: New HPC solver (major rework of TUFLOW GPU). Changes include: Ability to run on CPU or GPU. New cell schematisation (to be consistent with Classic and use of cell side elevations and sampling). Enhanced 1st order and new 2nd order spatial schemes. Full 1D/2D linking using the same SX and HX methods as TUFLOW Classic, giving access to all 1D functionality. Significantly better scaling when running one simulation over multiple GPU devices. Inclusion of more TUFLOW Classic functionality (e.g. layered flow constrictions, SA Trigger boundaries, and additional outputs). Previous “GPU” solver available for legacy models. Improved stability and stability options for SX connections to large 1D structures for Classic and HPC. New software based licencing options. Numerous enhancements and new functionality in TUFLOW for both Classic and HPC solvers, including a range of new output options including new map output formats and data types, as well as plot output regions. 4. We are pleased to announce an update to the 2016-03 TUFLOW Release (Build 2016-03-AB) is now available. It is recommended that all users of Builds 2016-03-AA update to this build. The release notes provide a complete description of the 2016-03-AB improvements. The most significant updates include: Enhancements and bug fixes to the GPU Solver: The recent nVidia driver update issue has been fixed. A gridded rainfall boundary condition input bug has been fixed. Matrix blockage options. Models can vary the culvert blockage definition based on the event magnitude (ARI). Tracking of maximum bed shear stress and stream power. Additional model template empty files are now output. 5. We are pleased to announce the availability of Build 2013-12-AE, a minor update to the 2013-12 TUFLOW Release. The update includes two bug fixes: Fixed licensing issue in Build 2013-12-AD that failed to retake a new licence if the licence was lost during the simulation; and Fixed a minor bug if using an operating control variable of “dh” type. As the update addresses a licensing issue in Build 2013-12-AD it is recommended that all users of Build 2013-12-AD update to this version.
