  1. Dear TUFLOW Users, Tutorial Model 8 - Direct Rainfall is now online and available for download. This module includes examples on the powerful depth-varying roughness feature in TUFLOW, hyetograph input methods, mass conservation considerations and also the differing approaches required when presenting and reviewing rainfall on grid results. Tutorial Model 8 forms part of a larger series of free tutorial models that users can download and run without a TUFLOW license. They are great for beginners or even those looking to use the latest modelling techniques. Follow these links to get started on the tutorial: http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=Tutorial_Module08 (Tutorial Wiki) http://www.tuflow.com/Tuflow%20Tutorial%20Models.aspx (Model and Data) Should you have any further queries please don't hesitate to send us an email at support@tuflow.com. Regards, The TUFLOW Team.
  2. Hi All, Module 6 of the TUFLOW tutorial is now available. This module introduces a large bridge structure that spans the creek and part of the floodplain. The model includes both a a 1D bridge channel and 2D flow constriction layer to represent the bridge. The TUFLOW tutorial can be found here: http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=Tutorial_Module06 The required module data and completed models are available on our TUFLOW downloads section: http://www.tuflow.co...ial Models.aspx If you have any questions, clarifications or feedback, please email support@tuflow.com. 3. Hi all, The first in a series of demonstration models has been added to the TUFLOW Wiki @ http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=Main_Page (refer to the "FMA Challenge 1" on the new "Demo Models" tab). The fully functional FMA Challenge 1 (1D-2D linked) provided, will allow you to review the model setup, run and review results improving your skills in: Nested 1D/2D models; Understanding urban riverine conditions and over-bank floodplains; Using the powerful functionality of scenarios and variables to determine a suitable cell size, timestep and log output scenarios; Understanding the influence of structures on open channel hydraulics; Using bc layers with HX, XP, CD and CN types; and Understanding the impact of data quality on DEM development. This Wiki assumes an intermediate to advanced user level and can be supplemented with our existing Wiki Tutorial series. As with our previously provided tutes, the downloads have the option of either running with MIF or SHP file depending on your preference of GIS software. Happy modelling, kind regards, the TUFLOW team.
  4. Hi All, Module 5 of the TUFLOW tutorial is now available. This module details the process of completing a simple flood impact assessment using a GIS based model (MapInfo, ArcMap or QGIS). A "developed" case topography is added as a scenario in TUFLOW and a comparison of the peak water level for the existing and developed cases is made. The TUFLOW tutorial can be found here: http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=Tutorial_Module05 The required module data and completed models are available on our TUFLOW downloads section: http://www.tuflow.com/Tuflow%20Tutorial%20Models.aspx If you have any questions, clarifications or feedback, please email support@tuflow.com. Regards Phillip
  5. Hi All, Module 4 of the TUFLOW tutorial is now available. This module details the process of carving 1D open channel through a 2D floodplain. The process is outlined for MapInfo, ArcMap and QGIS users. The TUFLOW tutorial can be found here:http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=Tutorial_Module04. The required module dataset and completed models are available on our TUFLOW downloads section: http://www.tuflow.com/ProductDownload.aspx If you have any questions, clarifications or feedback, please email support@tuflow.com.
