t.dat plots Smagorinsky Coefficent

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recommend the manual get updated at page A-12 of TUFLOW Manual.2008-08.doc from:

t eddy viscosity coefficient output (“e” prior to Build 2002-10-AH)

to:

t Smagorinsky eddy viscosity coefficient output (“e” prior to Build 2002-10-AH)

to avoid the confusion of the t.dat containing a constant 0.0 value (geographically and spatially) when Viscosity Formulation == CONSTANT is chosen.

Thanks Tina

This has been corrected in Build 2008-08-AC (ie. the viscosity coefficient is now output to the _t.dat file if CONSTANT is used).

Note that if using SMAGORINSKY the coefficient in the _t.dat file is not the Smagorinsky coefficient but the adjusted coefficient after applying the Smagorinsky equation (plus any constant component) - see Section 3.7 in the 2008 TUFLOW manual.
