Vector Output

Recommended Posts

I am having trouble using the Tuflow_to_GIS utility to convert a TuFlow velocity DAT file into a MIF file for use in MapInfo. The command line I am using is:

"C:\programs\TuFlow\Utilities\TUFLOW_to_GIS.exe -mif –vector -t99999 -sf1.0 S200_L4_05_V.dat

pause"

When I run the above batch file, a MIF file is created (sample below), however once read into MapInfo (I am using v8.5) only points with magnitude data are created with no vector information.

If anyone has any words of wisdom/possible solutions then they would be very very welcome.

Thanks

Adam

Sample MIF output.

The problem is that a long dash ("–") instead of a minus sign ("-") was specified in front of "vector". You also didn't close the double quotes around the pathname to the exe. The following should work fine.

"C:\programs\TuFlow\Utilities\TUFLOW_to_GIS.exe" -mif -vector -t99999 -sf1.0 S200_L4_05_V.dat

pause

Note, if there were any spaces in the .dat pathname, double quotes would be needed for the .dat pathname.

Cheers

Bill
