Instability when coupling ISIS reservoir units to TUFLOW

Recommended Posts

I am trying to couple ISIS reservoir units to a TUFLOW model - and am having some problems with instability along the boundary.

The entire area is extremely flat, and I need to couple the ISIS flood plain representation (series of reservoir units) to TUFLOW. At the moment this has been done with ISIS flood plain units coupled to the ISIS reservoir units and 2dSx boundaries in TUFLOW. Numerical noise develops accross the boundary when the water level in the model begins to subside. This results in the flow going round in circles, next to the boundary, or flowing along the boundary. The depth of water at the boundary is around 2m, and the water level in TUFLOW and ISIS is same when

Has anyone else had a similar problem? and if so could they give me some advice on how to fix it.

Thanks

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

Could you attach any images showing the location and the schematisation you've used?

Alternatively, could you specify the lat/lon of the location you're having issues and I might be able to provide an alternative schematisation method.

Regards,

Pete
