Elevation value error using VM xs tool with 2 DEMs

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Some of you may have observed elevatons of XXXX m when taking cross sections of multiple DEMs. From what I have observed, this generally occures when the DEMs are created from different processes/programs/versions etc. One solution that works more often than not is to alter the meta data (Grid manager>tools>alter metadata) of each grid by reselecting the "unit type" to meters. I have noticed that some grids have "meters" and some have "Meters" (with a capital M) and once they are the same, the VM grid cross sections report correct elevations.

Please feel free to add/expand/correct my observations.

Regards,

Yannick Michel
